Lets talk about the Oppositions.

Is there any realistic chance for them to win the election and formed the next government?

The answer is obviously a big NO.  I am 100% sure BN will win the election, hands down.

This was echoed by DAP’s Lim Guan Eng who concede the fact in a press conference that there is no way the Oppositions will even hope to deny the 2/3 majority enjoyed by BN. The thing is this, I think Guan Eng is actually fishing for sympathy votes when he said that. Should I say reverse psychology?

PKR’s Anwar stated that he has been denied his right to contest in the General Election, and if Wan Azizah or Nurul Izzah or Tian Chua won their seats, either one will make way to enable him to contest. Honestly I think, its not a good strategy to announce what he’ll do to the whole world. Better to shut up and execute it when the right moment arrives. And one might wonder why vote for a candidate who is guaranteed to let go of their seats after working very hard to win it? Dont get me wrong, I think Anwar will be an asset to the Opposition in the Parliament for that crucial check and balance element in a healthy democracy. Its just that this is not some tribute to one person. For example, lets say I’ll vote Nurul Izzah or Wan Azizah or Tian Chua or any other opposition candidates for that matter, and they secure the seats. What I want is for them to fulfill the trust and responsibilities given as my wakil rakyat. In a simple sentence, it is the voters who choose their representative, to represent them in the Parliament, and giving it up so that someone else could contest is a betrayal of that trust. 

But hey, I am not a politician, what do I know?

PAS had been given a chance to further consolidate their political base by winning Terengganu. Losing it in the last General Election showed that they are not capable to sustain that momentum. Nearly lost Kelantan as well in the process. I have no doubt they will spring some surprises in this coming General Election, but that will be all.

Over the years, the Oppositions has tried again and again to form some sort of coalition. Barisan Alternatif and Gagasan Rakyat failed miserably because of mistrusts and different principles.

Until and unless, the Oppositions could get their act together and discards their differences for one common goal, BN will surely reign over us for years to come.

And that is the bitter reality.
