RAJA PETRA ON TV

April 29th, 2008 | by akula |

RTM aired the second episode of BLOG which featured Raja Petra Kamarudin of Malaysia Today on the 27 April 08.

Host kena belasah giler. My favourite line from Raja Petra was;

“Ini pemikiran komunis, Apa yang you cakap ni pemikiran komunis……”

Kalau  orang lain kena macam tu, mesti malu giler, tutup muka balik rumah kurung diri, tak keluar bilik dah.

    So this is how he looks like. I am not impressed with his idealism. There is nothing ideal in the world. It is easy to talk rather than to practise. Separation of powers does not work anywhere, even in the US where it works best. It is the US President who appoint the top judges.

    The host is not a match to RPK. He needs to get a compatible match. RTM fumbled again.

    But I do agree with most of his points. In conclusion, the administration of the country is not up to the world standard.

      E43ST: Actually the US president nominates and with the consent of Senate, appoint the judge. There have been a lot of instances where the President nominated judges were rejected the Senate.

      But it was really funny to see the host scrambling and struggling to control the interview.

        True, it is the President nominates with the senate consent. Bear in mind every senators have their own interest. The appointment of judges there can still be tainted. But as it is not on the interest of RPK, he couldn’t care less.

        But at least the judges there steer away from protruding into the role of executives and legislatives, unlike in the case of Tun Salleh Abbas. Tun Salleh in the other hand had stepped out of his boundary. Read the allegation (1) in the following link:

        http://www.malaysiakini.com/letters/81831

        In this case it was the judiciary who was trying to intefere in the executive and legislative function.

        E43St: Theres always 2 sides of the coin. Read here;

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salleh_Abas

        My point is, consider all views, then make your own judgement.

        As far as RPK, or Salleh Abbas, or Dr. Mahathir, or Pak Lah, or Anwar Ibrahim or anyone else for that matter, at least they are doing something about things they believe in.

        There are always 2 sides of the coin, and there are many type of coins too. But if anybody want to find the truth they need to find what were in Tun Salleh’s and Mahathir’s mind in that point of time. Of course nobody would know.

        As for which sides of coin they are, probably RPK on the nirwana side of the coin where the world is so ideal. As for Salleh Abbas probably he was trying to coin his judicial authorities over executive at that point of time. As for Mahathir probably he was coining anybody who was trying to coin him. As for Anwar probably he played both side of the coin. As for Abdullah, his SIL is tossing his coin.

        Very true, they are doing something that they believe in, except for Abdullah where somebody did it for him.

        I am using ‘probably’, copying RPK in the matter of creating possibilities and in doing so he hopes to avoid being the primary source of information on the very grey matter that he is writing.

        E43St: Hahaha, love your elaboration on the various sides of a coin.

        As for me, yes, I do my own judgment.

    Akak setuju that RPK sounds idealistic. Tapi, it is for us tp think and decide for what is acceptable and what is practical… RPK has some good points that must be considered and debated further on their merits..

    and like everything else in the world, tak boleh ambik bulat-bulat semua otang kata…

    i like to hear more about amendment of the printing and press act… akta kolej also should be looked at now…

      Akak Sakdi: Agreed, while I dont agree and I dont believe some of the things he wrote, its his spirit and determination I admired.

      We have to open our minds and think rationally.

      AUKU should definately be revised.
